Kansas Secretary of State candidate speaks at Lyon County Democrat meeting

An upcoming Secretary of State candidate spoke to members of the Lyon County Democratic Party on Saturday. Jean Schodorf spoke to about 40 Democrats at the Courthouse Annex, sparking healthy discussion about the future of Kansas.

Chairperson of the Lyon County Democratic Party Susan Fowler was happy to have Schodorf attend.

Schodorf grew up in Independence, on the family farm which is the original "Little House on the Prairie." After a dozen years in the Senate, she switched parties in 2012. Her goal this year?

Among Schodorf's platform is returning the Secretary of State to the original job description, eliminating laws which prevent people from being able to vote, and making Kansas more attractive to potential businesses. That all starts, she says, with talking to people.
