Biscuits and gravy were plentiful at the Sertoma Club breakfast fundraiser on Saturday.

Club president Bud Stapp said, at 9 am:

The breakfast raises between $12,000 and $14,000 each year, with about half of that amount committed to the scholarship program. This year, Emporia State nursing students were on hand to wait on guests and gain experience helping out. Dr. Linda Adams-Wendling, chair and professor of nursing at ESU, says this year the students sold tickets and raised funds for the same scholarships which they are eligible for.

Hannah Burris was one of the ESU nursing students helping out.

According to Burris, this event is so popular because "everyone likes breakfast."
