Kansas Volunteer Commission gives Camp Alexander more time to compile AmeriCorps documents

Camp Alexander has been granted extra time to send paperwork to the Kansas Volunteer Commission.

Originally, the KVC said Camp Alexander had to send a host of documents by Wednesday supporting how it spent close to $100,000 in grant funds through the AmeriCorps program. The KVC has now pushed that deadline to Sept. 2.

The Volunteer Commission has said Camp Alexander was out of compliance with how it spent AmeriCorps funds after an agreement was reached on the program last summer. It has requested lists of staffers whose wages and benefits were charged to the grant, living allowance information, time sheets and equipment purchases.
