FHTC scholarship venture poised to go beyond original goal

With 40 scholarships created as part of the Flint Hills Technical College 50-50-50 campaign and with another 10 possible over the next few weeks, college leaders are stepping up their efforts to now go beyond their initial goals and help more students.

Foundation Director Mike Crouch says having more scholarship money on hand is "critical" as enrollment approaches 1,000 students.

The campaign will see a $50,000 contribution from an anonymous local company to the college's general scholarship fund if 50 scholarships are created. Crouch says the last 10 scholarships could be finalized before the month is out.
