Bruce Davis Construction planning move after winning bid for KDOT shop site

The minimum bid was enough for Bruce Davis Construction to win the Kansas Department of Transportation maintenance shop site at U.S. Highway 50, 12th Avenue and Graphic Arts Road on Tuesday.

The construction firm bid $322,500 for the 4.12 acres of property. It was the only one of four bidders who attended the auction to submit a bid.

Davis Construction, which is renting property near Tyson Foods, will shift its operations to the former KDOT property in the coming weeks. KDOT employees, meanwhile, will move to the Kansas Turnpike property nearby by late September. KDOT first acquired part of the property in 1951, completing the purchase in 1964.
