Things are picking up at the Lyon County Fair.
4-H activities have been ongoing since July 25 and continue through Aug. 7 when the Fairgrounds Anderson Building closes. Meanwhile, grandstand activities begin Saturday with ATV races -- and the carnival begins Tuesday night. Fair Vice President Jason Birk says there will be at least one new feature.
Fair President Ken Duft said the grandstand will be a busy place through the end of the fair Aug. 16.
In addition, grandstand events include an antique tractor pull Aug. 14, truck and tractor pull Aug. 15 and the demolition derby Aug. 16 to end the fair.
On Sunday, there are several things planned, including swine and poultry shows starting at 8 am, the pie and homemade ice cream competition at 3 pm, Cloverbuds presentation at 4 and the Fair Fun Night at 5.
