In most cases, unemployment numbers went up from May to June across the KVOE listening area.
Lyon County's unadjusted unemployment number for June is 5.5 percent, up from 4.9 percent in May. Emporia's rate climbed from 5 percent to 5.9 percent.
Areawide, Coffey, Greenwood, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties all saw their jobless rates climb. In most cases, the increase was less than half a point, but Coffey County saw an increase of 1.1 percent to 6.2 percent overall, now the highest in the area.
Chase County was the only area county to have a decline. At 3.9 percent, Chase County has area's the lowest unemployment figure.
Statewide, the seasonally adjusted rate went from 4.8 percent to 4.9 percent.
