Businesses ready for new chapters, new locations

Change is coming to two Emporia businesses this weekend.

In one case, change has already happened.

The Sweet Granada has already moved next door from 805 Commercial to 803 Commercial, officially opening its new location this week. The formal grand opening and ribbon cutting is Monday, and owner Kim Redeker can't wait.

KVOE will broadcast live from 4 to 6 pm.

Also, the Medicine Shoppe pharmacies are just about to become the Medicine Shoppe pharmacy at 12th and C of E Drive. Construction has been going on for several months at the new location, and the doors should open to the public Monday. Cory Haag of Haag Management, the husband of pharmacist Amber Haag, is excited to open a new chapter in the business' history.

Haag credited a partnership with Emporia Christian School to provide the land for the new building. A wellness center will be one of the new additions for pharmacy customers when the new store opens Monday.
