The Emporia School Board is having the first of its two regular meetings for the month Wednesday night.
Board members will discuss preliminary considerations for the 2014-15 budget. Board members believe the district will see minor financial benefits after lawmakers added almost $130 million to the state public education budget as a way to address equity issues brought up by the Kansas Supreme Court.
In housekeeping matters, board members will elect officers, consider a home rule resolution and possibly set meeting dates for the upcoming school year.
The meeting starts at 7 pm at Mary Herbert.
