This annual patriotic concert was dedicated to Vicki Allen, a lifelong musician and friend of the Municipal Band. The concert officially kicks off Fourth of July festivities in Emporia.

Several fireworks shows are planned, including Emporia's Friday night at Emporia State University. People can start parking on campus early, although Welch Stadium won't open up to the public until 8 pm. Welch Stadium and the ESU practice fields are the most popular locations to watch the show on campus. Handicapped parking may be expanded depending on the need. Coolers will be allowed but alcohol and fireworks will not.

The Flint Hills Optimists are handling the pyrotechnics for the show. KVOE will provide live traffic updates before the show starting at 6:30 pm and afterward as well. We will also live audio and video stream the fireworks display on KVOE-TV at KVOE.com.
