First-ever Shop Emporia Blitz plugs $200 back into community

The first-ever Shop Emporia Blitz put money in the hands of local shoppers Monday, courtesy the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Board members each purchased multiple $5 Shop Emporia gift certificates, and after the meeting went out and surprised local shoppers with the certificates. Chamber President and CEO Jeanine McKenna says within an hour's time, over $200 was plugged back into the community through the certificates. McKenna says she's glad the event went well.
