The board approved the comprehensive insurance plan for fiscal year 2014/15, as well as the ERC budget for publication. Director Tom McEvoy:

Approximately $3.6 million is slated for fiscal year 2014/15, spread across the general fund and the employee benefit fund. McEvoy says the ERC's valuation has increased -- another good problem to have.

The board also approved salary increases for non-elected personnel. The assistant director, as well as administrative and maintenance personnel, will receive increases anywhere from 2 percent to 6 percent. McEvoy says this will make Rec Center employees' salaries competitive with their peers in these fields.

In other business, the board discussed the future auctioning-off of their pool and snooker tables. The game room will be eliminated with the upcoming remodel, therefore the tables will need to go to a new home. No date or time for an auction has been set in stone. McEvoy says those tables have been a part of the Lee Beran Rec Center since 1977.
