Seven people traveling through Greenwood County had a painful Memorial Day after their minivan crashed outside Eureka.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 27-year-old Crystal McMahon of Wichita was westbound on U.S. Highway 54 when the right rear tire failed on her minivan about eight miles west of Eureka shortly before 3:30 pm. McMahon lost control, with her van going into a ditch and overturning.
McMahon was taken to Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka following the crash, as were her six passengers:
*29-year-old Randon Shelinbarger of Wichita
*Three-and-a-half-month-old twins Kaleb and Kara Shelinbarger of WIchita
*10-year-old Alyssa Friesen of Wichita
*One-year-old Randon Shelinbarger of Wichita
*Seven-year-old Halie Friesen of Wichita.
Greenwood County Hospital does not release patient conditions to the media. All seven people in the van were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
