One Lyon County road south of Emporia may be closed for a little bit yet this week.
Road 150 from Kansas Highway 99 to Road "M" shut down because of heavy rains late last week into the weekend. Assistant County Engineer Jim Brull isn't saying when Road 150 may reopen to traffic.
Nearly 10 county roads south of Emporia were shut down at some point, with all but Road 150 reopening by Monday. Brull says road crews waited for high waters to recede before fixing the roads and making them ready for use.
Brull says Lyon County warns drivers not to go around barricades if they are blocking roads, but drivers always seem to bypass the blockages. Brull says insurance companies will not cover damage if drivers get stuck or crash after passing barricades.
