The Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve has a host of activities planned for the Memorial Day Weekend.
Preserve Chief of Interpretation, Heather Brown, says activities start Saturday morning with ranch activities for children from 9 to 11am.
Children will receive a sticker-token after completion of each chore, and be able to turn those in for a Springhill Ranch certificate.
From 11:30am-4pm, the Preserve will be providing wagon rides every 20 minutes. Brown says it gives visitors a chance to learn about transportation of the 1880's by experiencing the transportation of the 1880's.
Activities continue Sunday and Monday with guided ranch tours of the Historic buildings. The tours start at 11am and 1pm, and will run about 40 minutes.
The Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve is two miles north of Highway 50 on Highway 177. For information, call 620-273-8494 or online at www.nps.gov/tapr.
