Lyon County's public school boards are all holding meetings this week.
The Emporia School Board meets at 7 pm Wednesday at Mary Herbert. Board members will discuss whether to let bids for Google Chromebooks to replace Windows XP laptops. They will also discuss approving a memorandum of understanding with ECKAN Head Start for the 2014-2015 school year and will review board goals adopted almost three years ago.
Also Wednesday, the South Lyon County School Board is meeting at 7 pm at the district board office in Hartford. The board will discuss possibly moving sixth-graders and teachers from Neosho Rapids Elementary to Hartford for the 2015-2016 school year. Superintendent Mike Argabright says this makes sense for teacher licensing and student opportunities. He also says the Neosho Rapids school is under no threat of closing if the sixth grade changes buildings.
Meanwhile, the North Lyon County School Board is meeting at 7 pm Tuesday at the district board office in Americus. Board members will discuss the upcoming budget, contract negotiations and summer maintenance.
