A new series of workshops will be coming this summer, to provide local residents with important financial literacy information.
A four-part series titled "Money Matters in the Flint Hills" will be coming this summer. This series comes from a partnership between the United Way of the Flint Hills and Housing and Credit Counseling, Inc.
In an earlier news release, United Way director Jami Reever said financial literacy is an important piece of the United Way's work. The Community Investment Committee and the Board of Trustees have recently been discussing ways to improve self-sufficiency among local residents. HCCI has been a community partner for many years, and this year was asked to help offer the classes.
The classes will be held during evenings, starting in June and running through November at area nonprofits in Lyon and surrounding counties. Free childcare is provided at these classes. For more information, contact United Way at 342-7564, or contact Lynne Crabtree at HCCI at 1-800-383-0217.
