The Regional Development Association had lengthier discussions during Friday's meeting.
The board did approve the proposed budget for 2015. This revised $338,000 budget includes some $25,000 for target marketing -- something RDA President Kent Heerman said needs more focus on.
The RDA has been working on their latest goals and objectives in recent months. Heerman said those goals can be summarized as creation, retention, and recruitment of new jobs and businesses to the area.
The meeting's discussions focused mainly on how to measure those goals. Heerman said the board wants to obviously encourage job creation, and maintain good relationships with local businesses while working on developing new leads. Heerman said there were several ways to monitor the results of their work, through financial and statistical data. No action was taken after these discussions.
