Power outages in different parts of Emporia have been restored.
Westar spokesman Nick Bundy says close to 1,100 customers in northwest Emporia lost power around 9 am after a switch failed at the company's 30th and Prairie substation. That outage was restored about an hour later.
Shortly after noon, another 80 customers lost power near Emporia State University after a squirrel caused a malfunction. The outage was restored less than an hour later.
