The search for Gabino Ruiz-Ascencio is into its second year.
Ruiz-Ascencio is wanted in connection with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 24-year old Adrian Peralta in April 2013. Peralta's death is Emporia's last homicide on record.
Ruiz-Ascencio is described as a Hispanic male who is 27 years old. He stands approximately 5-feet-6 and weighs around 165 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He has multiple tattoos and is a documented gang member.
Ruiz is considered armed and dangerous. It was initially believed to have fled to Mexico, but he may have returned to Kansas at least once over the past year.
Ruiz-Ascensio left the scene of the shooting in a stolen truck that still hasn't been recovered at last word. The truck is a white 1991 GMC Sierra.
