Rescue Mission, Abundant Harvest near end of Feinstein Challenge

The Emporia Rescue Mission's annual Feinstein Challenge fundraiser comes to an end Wednesday.

Director Lee Alderman says money has been coming in since he went on KVOE's Morning Show and an anonymous donor offered a $15,000 match earlier this month, although none of that money has been tabulated. He says the money is critical so both the mission and Abundant Harvest can stay open.

At last update, there was about $30,000 in both funds and nonperishable food pledged.

The Alan Shawn Feinstein Foundation matches finances at a dollar per dollar and nonperishable items at $1 per item. For information or to donate, call Alderman at 794-2977.
