Candy snatched up in short order at Optimists Easter egg hunt

Hundreds of kids and parents hopscotched across parts of Jones Park on Saturday for the Flint Hills Optimists' annual Easter egg hunt.

An estimated 20,000 pieces of candy disappeared in roughly 15 minutes. Club member Darrell Jones is glad the event is welcomed by the community.

Jones says club members start organizing around New Year's Day to make sure the park is scheduled for the event, order the candy and add other aspects like an appearance by the Easter Bunny.
