Interstate 35 is set to see major construction work in Lyon County next week.
Starting Tuesday, April 22, I-35 northbound and southbound over the Neosho River, as well as the U.S. 50 bridges and the one-mile stretch of road in-between the bridges, will be reduced to one open lane 24/7.
This is due to a bridge repair and resurfacing project resuming work after a winter shutdown period. Project work includes expansion joint replacement, followed by a polymer overlay application across both bridge decks.
Work will take place Monday through Friday during daylight hours. Traffic will be directed through the work zone via channelizers. Drivers should expect minor delays, and of course are directed to follow the speed limit through all work zones.
Overall project work is scheduled to be completed in mid-June, weather permitting.
