Teddy Bear Clinic allays fears of doctor visits

Flinthills Mall was full as Newman Regional Health held its 17th annual Teddy Bear Clinic on Saturday.

The event is designed to lessen a child's fears about going to the hospital -- something Tara Senft knows all too well. Her children Lincoln and Hunter have spent a lot of time at doctor's offices in their young lives.

Senft's children, including her daughter, McKinley, passed up going to an Easter egg hunt to attend the clinic.

Once again, kids could get their teddy bears or other stuffed animals weighed, X-rayed and stitched up if needed. There were a lot of information booths on children's activities, child care, child safety and adoption. Local authorities also had safety tips for kids and their parents.
