The 11th annual Domestic Violence Summit will be held at Flint Hills Technical College on Friday. The summit is being hosted by SOS, a state-wide organization dedicated to ending domestic and sexual violence.
David Adams, the co-director of a Boston-based counseling program called Emerge, will be the keynote speaker.
Attendees will learn about so-called "risk markers" for domestic homicides and serious assaults. They will also learn about comprehensive ways to assess danger, protect victims and monitor offenders. Adams will also be discussing some of his newest research.
Adams helped to establish the first counseling program in the nation for men who abuse women, doing so in 1977.
