Wednesday will be a busy day for Emporia city and Lyon County commissioners. Both boards have separate study meetings before meeting at the County Courthouse for a quarterly joint meeting.
City commissioners will field an update on the Hammond Park tennis court. They also will discuss city agency evaluations.
County commissioners, meanwhile, will receive the County Engineer annual report along with requests to buy sign sheeting for over $24,000. A request to replace yield signs with stop signs at Roads 210 and "K" will be considered as will a request from Lyon County Administrative Judge Merlin Wheeler for a courtroom audio-video consultation.
Both meetings begin at 10 am -- the city meeting at White Auditorium City Conference Room 1 AB, the county meeting at the Courthouse.
The joint meeting at the Courthouse follows at noon. Commissioners will receive an update on the dispatch consolidation recently passed by both boards. They will also discuss the annual fireworks show, funding for the Emporia Public Library and various economic development topics.
