The number of abortions performed in Kansas is down slightly.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment says there were nearly 7,500 abortions reported in 2013, down 119 from the 2012 count.
Nearly half the abortions -- 3,722 in all -- were out-of-state residents, with 97 percent in that category coming in from Missouri. Women ages 20 to 24 sought a third of the abortions performed. That was the largest age group seeking abortions.
