Arrows fly during Women in the Outdoors event

The latest Women in the Outdoors event Saturday saw plenty of holes -- and arrows filling them -- in targets at Dry Creek Sporting Clays. The workshop is designed to show women the benefits of getting outdoors through target practice.

Miss Kansas Theresa Vail was the featured guest speaker and archery instructor. She says it's all about empowering women.

Participants got lessons in the basics of archery, and practice shooting 3-D targets of animals. Lyon County 4-H member and range officer for the event Megan Hilbish says archery is something everyone can enjoy.
