Logan Avenue principal kisses pig after school surpasses fundraising goal

After Logan Avenue School students met their fundraising goal for Pennies for Patients, principal Jessica Griffin had to remain true to her word that, if they met their initial goal of $1,000, she would kiss a pig.

Well, students raised over $3,500 in pennies to go towards the charity, which will benefit cancer and blood disorder research.

Griffin said, within the first three days, students raised over $1,300. During a special assembly Friday, Griffin puckered up, and the pig obliged.

Griffin says, dealing with cancer in her family has put this entire fundraising effort into perspective.
