Spring break starts Monday for the Emporia School District. This means kindergarten orientation is about a month away.
Children who will be five years old on or before Aug. 31 will be eligible to attend kindergarten in Emporia schools, and three orientation sessions have been planned. The first one April 21 is for families with last names beginning in the letters "A" through "L." A session April 22 is open to all families, with another session that date for families with last names beginning with the letters "M" through "Z."
All the sessions this year will be at Mary Herbert. Enrollment requirements, such as a physical and health history, and expectations will be discussed along with transportation, school meals and school health services.
