The man accused of trying to kill another man last fall now knows his tentative trial date.
Guillermo Fuero-Mendoza, 29, learned his trial on attempted murder and other charges will be set for June 16-19 during a pretrial hearing Tuesday. His final pretrial in Lyon County District Court will be June 11.
Defense attorney Mark Manna was also successful in having several motions granted on Fuero-Mendoza's behalf, including a motion requesting sequestration of witnesses, a request to wear civilian clothing during trial and a request to have shackles removed before all future court hearings.
Motions involving the admissibility of several Fuero-Mendoza statements and whether law enforcement gave him a timely Miranda warning will be heard May 30.
Fuero-Mendoza is accused of stabbing Gabriel Roman as part of an argument over money Nov. 23. Besides the attempted murder charge, he is also charged with aggravated robbery.
