Emporia city commissioners may put the finishing touches on installing a familiar face as the new city manager during their action meeting Wednesday.
Commissioners may finalize an agreement to formally install Mark McAnarney as city manager. Two weeks ago, commissioners announced they were renouncing an agreement with a search firm to promote McAnarney, who had served as assistant city manager for over 20 years. He's replacing Matt Zimmerman, who resigned last fall to become city manager of Hazelwood, Mo.
Also, commissioners could sign an agreement with the Kansas Department of Transportation for the upcoming Konnecting Link, or K-LINK, street rehab project. Speaking of infrastructure, commissioners could approve a private water service line for part of Yucca Lane.
The meeting starts at 1:30 pm Wednesday in the Municipal Court Room.
