A longstanding fundraiser -- and a first-time affair -- are coming Tuesday evening.
The Quail and Upland Wildlife Federation is hosting its 30th annual local banquet and auction at the Fairgrounds Anderson Building. Doors open at 5:30 pm, with the dinner at 7 and the auction following. Newsmaker guest Ron Whitney on Monday said the proceeds help with several different projects.
Tickets are available at the Gun Den or Groh Printing for $50 for adults or $25 for children under age 18.
Also, the ESU United Methodist Campus Ministries is having its first pancake feed. Organizer Ken Hanson, another Newsmaker guest Monday, says the timing of the meal is perfect with Ash Wednesday this week.
The meal will be at First United Methodist Church from 5 to 7 pm. Proceeds benefit the church's campus ministry efforts.
