The Emporia School District has held three meetings to gain input on potential boundary and transportation changes affecting the district's elementary schools. The final three meetings are coming soon.
On Monday, Timmerman Elementary patrons will meet at the school at 7 pm. Tuesday has meetings at Logan Avenue School at 4:15 pm and at Village at 6 pm.
The district is planning several boundary changes to set two general enrollment levels, with higher-enrollment schools like Timmerman, Riverside and Village all projected to have over 400 students and Logan Avenue, Walnut and William Allen White all slated to have close to 240 schoolkids. Transportation would also be adjusted to reduce or eliminate buses at Village, Walnut and William Allen White.
The USD 253 board will receive final recommendations at its March 12 meeting.
