Playhouse Project comes to a close with live drawing on 14 KVOE

A Traeger grill and a playhouse are going to new homes after a special drawing live on 14 KVOE Friday.

The Playhouse Project came to a close with organizer Rex Williams announcing the fundraising totals and drawing the contest winners.

Close to $3,000 was raised for scholarships benefitting students at Emporia State University and Flint Hills Technical College. Williams says that's still a positive thing.

Flint Hills Foundation Director Mike Crouch says every dollar counts.

Don Bess of Neosho Rapids won the Traeger grill. Bess is a culinary arts student at FHTC. The winner of the playhouse? The person who wasn't at the drawing, ESU Foundation director DenaSue Potestio.

The sponsors of the project include Waters True Value, Mark II, Williams Automotive, ESU and FHTC.
