Senior Center Board interviewing director, administrative assistant candidates this week

The Emporia Senior Center Board continues its search for a new director and administrative assistant.

Director Susan Riley announced her resignation earlier this month after over a dozen years on the job, and the Senior Center board has scheduled a special meeting March 5 to discuss personnel and potential hires, according to board secretary Karen Hartenbower.

The meeting March 5 will begin at 3 pm. Interviews are coming Friday. Eight candidates applied, with some applying for both positions, but Hartenbower did not say how many candidates will be interviewed.

Riley, who will be the nursing home administrator at AmeriCare in Eureka, has said she plans to volunteer at the Emporia center.
