The Kansas Department of Transportation is requesting comments on amendments to the Statewide Transportation Improvement Plan for the next several years.
The program lists all KDOT-administered projects regardless of funding source. It also includes projects for cities and counties as well as projects on the state highway system.
The amended list includes several projects in Chase and Osage counties. For Chase County, two railroad crossing improvements are tentatively set near Bazaar for an estimated total cost of nearly $600,000. Osage County has railroad crossing work slated near Melvern and Olivet for an estimated total cost of $550,000 along with master plan work for Osage City at a cost of $15,000 and two bridge projects on Kansas Highway 170 some three miles east of the Lyon County line costing an estimated $2.6 million total.
