Granada sails seas of romance for Valentine's Day dinner-and-movie

The Granada Theatre set sail Friday evening with Valentine's Day dinner and a movie. The movie was "Titanic;" the dinner was a reasonable fascimile of the last meal served on the doomed ship.

Dinner tickets were sold out, as couples of all ages filled the Granada, and were served by waiters and waitresses dressed in formal attire.

Sergio Segura, a senior at Emporia State, was accompanied by his date and another couple. He said he liked the change in scenery.

Segura said he doesn't usually celebrate Valentine's Day, but this time, why not? Monica Fladung, one-half of another couple in Segura's party and also a senior at ESU, said she didn't even care that it was Valentine's Day.

Fladung's date, however, was a little more oblivious than that...

Fladung also appreciated the change of pace, saying she would recommend an event like this to somebody wanting to try something different in Emporia.
