ESU strategic plan discussion opening to public

Emporia State University is holding a series of strategic planning meetings on campus Wednesday, and it's encouraging members of the public to give their thoughts at a special meeting that night.


ESU's public strategic planning forum in the County Courthouse Commission Chambers at 7 pm. Spokesperson Gwen Larson says this is a different approach from the highly-publicized campus master plan.

Strategic plan forums will lead to the formulation of a mission, vision and values statement for more discussion by mid-semester. That statement should be ready for approval before this semester is done and for implementation by this upcoming fall.

The university's last strategic plan, "Engaging Exellence," was created in 2009.
