The Kansas Board of Regents has created a work group to create recommendations for the board's policy on improper use of social media.
Thirteen people from most of the Regents universities and the KU Medical Center were named, including Emporia State legal counsel Kevin Johnson and associate English, modern languages and journalism professor Max McCoy.
The Regents' social media policy allows universities to fire faculty and staff in cases where it's used "contrary to the best interests of the university." Criticism from academic leaders across the country prompted the Regents to set up the work group. Recommendations may come by April.
