The South Coffey County school board has selected four finalists for its superintendent position.
Candidate names and background information will be released as they interview over the coming two weeks, according to current Superintendent Mike Kastle. His plans to retire at the end of June prompted the board to start a search.
Ten candidates applied for the position, which will also double as part-time principal at a building to be determined later.
Kastle says board members want a leader with a strong financial background a a commitment to small district success, hopefully stabilizing or increasing enrollment after years of declines.
