Flint Hills Technical College is rated as the fourth best two-year technical school or community college according to Bankrate.com.
"It legitimizes and ratifies how important Flint Hills Technical College is to this community," President Dr. Dean Hollenbeck said.
Bankrate credited the college for its hands-on education, with 70 percent of learning time spent in labs or training, as well as partnerships with businesses and other universities like Emporia State and Kansas State.
"We have excellent staff, we have excellent administrators who are putting these programs together," Hollenbeck said. "All our programs are directly tied to business and industry."
Bankrate.com puts Flint Hills Technical College fourth, basing its criteria on graduation rate, student retention rate, student-faculty ratio and financial factors including in-state tuition and fees, the percentage of first-time full-time students receiving aid and the average amount of grant aid received.
