Kansas Secretary of Commerce Pat George was in Emporia this mornng.
George met with the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce's Chamber Matters Committee. Board members and elected officials were also at the meeting.
The Secretary talked about perspective, priorities and leadership in supporting an active effort to recruit business to Kansas. George said he enjoys these informal community meetings.
Mark Schreiber, who chairs the Chamber committe, said he felt it was important to have this connection with Topeka.
George pointed out they have had great success with firms such as Alternative Energy and the the BNSF intermodal project.
The Secretary noted that Kansas has a "tool box" of incentives when it comes to recruiting jobs for Kansas.
