KVOE Bridal Experience blossoms with vendors, prizes, fashion

Close to 35 vendors filled White Auditorium during the KVOE Bridal Experience Sunday. Brides-to-be and their families braved the Arctic cold outside, to browse the latest bridal fashions and accessories inside.

Kari's Diamonds and Bridal, Designs by Sharon and Waters True Value co-sponsored the event this year. Designs by Sharon owner Sharon Ewing says it's an exciting event that comes together well.

This is the fifth year for the Bridal Experience, and the first for KVOE to have spearheaded the event. KVOE's General Manager Ron Thomas says it was important to get out early in the year and put on a show for brides-to-be to get ideas and help with their future weddings. Thomas says attendance was high.

In addition to the fashion shows and vendors, booth prizes were given out, including two grand prizes: a four-day, three-night trip to Barcelo Costa Cancun, and $1,000 in rentals from Waters True Value.

Jeanie Smith won the $1,000 in rentals, and Janelle Housholder won the trip to Cancun. Both women are from Emporia. Smith says she had a pleasant experience overall at the show, and she was extremely excited when she won.
