Drive-through flu shot clinic set for Oct. 4

Newman Regional Health and the Flint Hills Community Health Center-Lyon County Health Department are teaming up to provide a drive-through flu shot clinic for the second straight year.

The clinic will be held at the Flinthills Mall southwest parking lot on Oct. 4. It will serve people ranging from 9 years of age and up. People attending should enter from Industrial Road and wear a short-sleeved shirt for convenience.

The Centers for Disease Control recommends everybody six months of age and up get a flu shot. Flu season can begin as early as October, usually peaking in January or February.

Cost of the clinic is $25, cash or check, or people can bring their insurance cards. For more information, call Newman Regional Health at 343-6800 ext. 2524 or the Health Center-Health Department. You can also go online to www.newmanrh.org or www.flinthillshealth.org.
