Changes to Medicare may have caused some to put off enrolling for fear they weren't selecting the proper coverage, but time runs out next Wednesday with a deadline to select coverage for 2014.
North Central Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging executive director Julie Govert-Walter says there are a few changes to the different plans and, generally, Medicare can be very complex.
She says the Agency on Aging staff is ready to help navigate the materials.
Govert-Walter also encourages Medicare participants to look into the "Extra Help" program, which helps pay Part-D prescription drug insurance premiums and copays.
Govert-Walter says you should apply for the "Extra Help" if you are close to the income guidelines because you don't want to leave possible savings "on the table".
Anyone needing help wading through the information is encouraged to call the Agency on Aging at 1-800-432-2703 or online at www.ncfhaaa.com.
