Local fundraising effort benefits well project in India

A local family is raising money to help people in India get the water they need for daily life.

Britanie Ramirez is leaving next summer on a mission trip through Angel House Ministries. She says her kids had a lot of questions about the project when she told them of her trip.

Ramirez joined KVOE's Newsmaker segment, asking for help with the project. She says people can walk up to 25 miles a day for water, but an investment like this yields a fourfold return in productivity.

Angel House Ministries is in the middle of its 100 Wells in 100 Days program, with plans to build 50 wells in India and another 50 in Africa.

Walnut School is currently having a penny war among the school classes. Ramirez is also seeking business involvement for possible matching donations by Dec. 19.
