Two arrests have been made after Tuesday's warrant search led to a lengthy standoff in Overbrook.
Osage County Sheriff Laurie Dunn says 32-year-old Linda Woods of Topeka was arrested for three felony warrants out of Shawnee County and was taken afterward to the Shawnee County Jail. Dunn says Woods left an apartment at 302 Ash but was quickly apprehended.
Also, 39-year-old Thomas Kent of Topeka was arrested on a Shawnee County warrant for failing to appear at his sentencing hearing on an aggravated weapons conviction. Guns and ammunition were found in the apartment. Kent was hospitalized for an evaluation afterward.
The warrant is what led authorities to the Overbrook apartment complex -- and also the resulting standoff when Kent saw officers coming and barricaded himself inside. Authorities from several jurisdictions, including Overbrook police, Shawnee and Osage County, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and U.S. Marshals were at the scene for over seven hours before Kent surrendered.
