Red Stocking breakfast raised over $12,000 to benefit KCSL programs

Fundraising totals are in, and last weekend's Red Stocking Breakfast has a very successful turnout. Over $12,000 was raised, and 249 people braved the cold weather to have breakfast at Pizza Ranch, and help the Kansas Children's Service League.

Local director Bev Long says a fun time was had by all.

Besides the breakfast, the organization also had several gift baskets up for bid through a silent auction. Over $10,000 was raised last year.

Proceeds will augment the Healthy Families program, which helps families burdened by stress factors such as unemployment or underemployment, lack of parenting skills or a family history of abuse and neglect.
