Wolf Creek continues work on emergency planning facility, lakewater piping

Wolf Creek continues work on two major projects.

One of those is the emergency planning facility at BETO Junction. Spokesperson Cassie Bailey says the foundation should be poured soon.

Construction of the roughly 14,000 square-foot building should be done by next spring or summer. Wolf Creek's emergency planning department should move in shortly thereafter, with Wolf Creek seeking formal approval from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission next fall.

Onsite, work also continues on replacing pipes.

Work continues above and below ground the next few months. Bailey says these improvements will help the plant operate safely.
